WOW – a world of sand play options! The Sandworks unit attracts and holds children in cooperative and deep construction play for a very long time. It is a playground favourite to build with sand. Installed where there is an option to find water, the Sandworks is a very popular play unit. The levels up to the highest platform motivate running up and down, which is great for active play. The platforms are all interconnected with funnels which fuels the attraction for children in seeing sand run through funnels: is it the same sand going in and out? How long does it take to go through? Can it be hoisted back up? The shovels run sand up and down. All of these activities hugely benefit the child’s logical thinking skills and the understanding of material character. The levels invite cooperation in transporting materials, stimulating social skills.

The Rotating Table is a wonderous sand play experience for children: the lower table can be turned, so that sand or other materials can be shifted through the holes or down on a platform. The upper table has a sand bowl for mixing materials. There is a sieve to filter materials through and a funnel to shift materials from the upper to the lower table. The lower table can be turned to transport materials around to friends on the opposite side of the table.
